How Our Reading Method Works

Here’s what a simple story looks like in Module 12 of our patented reading curriculum. Three learning support tools are included here: An audio button so children can hear the story read to them; a simplified, child-friendly phonetic English code called Kindercode™ or 21E®, that kids learn how to read in less than 4 hours and that gives them incredible confidence and a deep understanding of how spoken language is easily converted into written code; and our patented diacritic pronunciation guide, shown as the Phonibet® symbols placed above the English words.

What is the 21E® Phonetic code?

At the core of FUNetix is a patented, breakthrough approach to “phonemic awareness,” the foundational skill identified by modern brain science as essential to reading success.

English contains 44 distinct sounds; and ONLY FUNetix teaches these sounds directly to children in a fun and memorable way called the Phonibet®.

Next, FUNetix teaches children how to read a phonetic English code made up of the 44 letters and sound symbols that represent ALL of the sounds of the English language. This code is called Kindercode™, or 21E®. Kindercode is so easy, it only takes 3-4 hours for children to learn how to read ANY English word in this special, child-friendly, phonetic code.

Once children master Kindercode/21E, FUNetix teaches them how to apply their newly developed skills and knowledge to decode the irregular spelling patterns of ANY English word.
